Welcome to the Greek School of Bishop’s Stortford
The Greek School of Bishop’s Stortford operates in Bishop’s Stortford according to the provisions of the constitution of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Gt. Britain. The School belongs to and is managed by the local Greek community of Bishop’s Stortford and surrounding areas and it is by default member of the Central Educational Council (KES) of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Gt. Britain, following its directives and regulations.
According to its constitution, the aim of the school is to introduce and reinforce the children’s cultural and linguistic identity through the teaching of the Greek language, History and Culture and therefore help them to raise their self-awareness and self-esteem.
Our mission is to teach our pupils to speak, read and write Greek in a fun and caring environment, enable them to develop culturally and socially and inspire them to feel proud of their Greek background.
Our school is governed by a committee of parents and our pupils are taught by qualified, experienced, but most importantly committed and enthusiastic teachers.
